PROJECT DESCRIPTION
In order to accomplish Iron Mountain’s strategic plan to centralize Chicago’s shred operations to one location, Iron Mountain needed an expanded, state-of-the-art facility to accommodate both the shred and logistic needs for the entire Chicagoland market. Consequently, Iron Mountain tasked Vision Construction to repurpose an existing 50,000 square foot records storage facility previously comprised of various ill-planned additions.
Our Team accomplished this unique and complex request by demolishing 10,000 square feet of existing space to accommodate a new depressed exterior loading dock, as well as demolishing interior warehouse demising walls to achieve an open floor plan for new plant operation. Additional project scope included a 7,000 square foot office build-out and substantial upgrades to the existing mechanical, electrical, plumbing and fire protection systems.
The completed facility has become the flagship facility for Iron Mountain shred operations across the entire country.
