PROJECT DESCRIPTION
With new curriculum and ideas for 21st century learning in mind, the District implemented a facility-wide plan to convert three existing libraries to multi-purpose media centers. The vibrant, inspiring, flexible spaces include various breakout areas to encourage collaboration. Additionally, these spaces accommodate different approaches to instruction. The new Center satisfies the District’s ultimate goal of providing a learning environment that promotes creativity and academic discovery. Cicero East Media Center and S.T.E.A.M. Room As part of a facility-wide master plan, Cicero School District 99 converted a traditional library space that no longer served the new curriculum into an exemplary new media center complete with a S.T.E.A.M. Lab. In this cutting edge multi-purpose space, students learn in an open-concept, flexible learning environment. The District’s new curriculum, and the spaces designed to respond to these needs, has proven to stimulate new levels of creativity and an increased desire to learn.
